Women's Captain's Announcements - 8th September
In all ways it would seem that Autumn is slowly creeping up on us. This week’s monthly stableford saw a mixture of rain and sun and we have definitely lost some of the run on the ball. The greens were hollow tined and sanded at the beginning of the week and this made putting slightly tricky to say the least. However, the irrepressible Umar Annaradnam once again was in fine form winning the first division with Sue Evans winning the second division with a score of 38.
Mary Kemal and Hazel Goodyear travelled up to Thonock Park in Lincolnshire to take part in the Ping 4BBB final and although weren’t amongst the winners did really well finishing 25th out of 51 teams. They also managed to come away with a new waterproof golf bag and an umbrella, which no doubt will come in very useful in the coming months!
A couple of reminders please; the autumn meeting is fast approaching with sign up in the locker room. Please also remember to sign up for the meal if you are staying so that we know numbers to cater for. The final monthly medal and stableford competitions will take place on Sunday 2nd/Monday 3rd October and Sunday 9th/Monday 10th October respectively, so anyone who has qualified please find a partner and book on iG at a time/day to suit yourself. Again, qualifiers can be found in the locker room on the notice board (thank you Lisa). Next week’s competition is the Autumn Cup which is a board competition and is a medal so good luck to everyone taking part. I shall be on a sun lounger on the beach, preferably with a cocktail and a good book in my hands!
This Sunday is our monthly swindle with the WDF year 2 group and hopefully we may be seeing some of them on the course on a Wednesday in the near future.
Sarah will be back from her holiday next week returning to full swing!
