Women's Captain Announcement's 15th September 2022
After a wonderful, restful holiday, we were travelling home when we heard the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II following an amazingly long and dutiful life. This Friday there will be a toast to the Queen at 7pm at the club with a complimentary glass of prosecco. Tables can be booked on the BHPGC website.
I’d like to say ‘Thank you’ to Tracey for standing in for me and keeping you all up to date in her eloquent blogs; all good practice for three weeks’ time!
On Wednesday we played the Autumn Cup in very different conditions to when I left for my holiday. The winner, on countback, with a net 70 was Lucy and the runner up, also on 70, was Ros. Alison, Cela and Angela B also came in with net 70s. Well done all.
Next week is the Autumn Meeting. Please let Debbie know in good time if you have any dietary requirements. Also, there will be a sandwich list in the locker room for you to order lunch.
Sign up on IG is now open for the Harvest Festival Stableford on the 28th. Please bring in non perishable foods and leave them in the locker room. These will be taken to Enfield Food Bank.
Sign up for Tracey’s Drive In on 5th October opens on the 21st and the sign up for Farewell to Summer, a mixed team event with lunch and prizes on 23rd September, is now open on IG. The teams will be drawn nearer the time.
The Club AGM is on 22nd September and the Women’s Section AGM is on 29th September.
Billie is hoping to start a new BRIDGE FOR BEGINNERS course if there is sufficient demand. The sign up sheet is in the women’s locker room. When signing up, please state if there are days of the week that you cannot make.
On Wednesday evening, Sue A and I attended a Middlesex Women in Golf Charter Champion event at North Middlesex Golf Club. Sue made a presentation outlining our WDF programme and answered many questions. Well done on your presentation, Sue and thanks for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
