Women's Captain Announcement's 22nd September 2022
The end of my year as Women’s Captain is quickly approaching and yesterday’s comp, the Autumn Meeting, was the last ‘big one’. The weather stayed dry and warm for both rounds and the comp was very well supported with 36 of us playing in the morning and 7 teams competing for the big prize (socks) in the afternoon.
The Scratch prize winner with a gross 87 was Lesley. The winner of Division 1 was Helen with a very impressive 64, closely followed by Dawn with a 67. Division 2 was won by Angela B with a 67 and runner up was Sue A with a 68. Great scoring again! The Lisney trophy, which is presented to the player with the best nett aggregate scores from the Spring and Autumn Meetings went to Cela – fantastic! The afternoon team comp was won by Rita, Mandy, Lak and Tracy C.
Roy delighted us all with Sea Bass followed by a lovely, gooey chocolate brownie with ice cream. Thank you, Roy and thanks to Sonia and team for looking after us so well, as always. Prizegiving did go on a bit. This was due, in part, to so many people scoring 2s recently and receiving their prizes (2 balls per 2).
This coming Wednesday is the Harvest Festival Stableford. Please bring in non perishable food and I shall deliver it to Enfield Food Bank. The following Wednesday is Tracey’s Drive In which is an individual Stableford, individual sign up, played in 3s. The rescheduled George Low 4BBB is on Sunday, 2nd October, numbers are low at the moment, so please play if you can. Sign up for these comps are now open on IG.
The Club AGM is this evening (Thursday) and the Women’s AGM is next Thursday, 29th.
Lisa and Lucy are playing the Middlesex Handicap Championship on Friday at North Middlesex which is an individual comp – good luck.
On Sunday, Lisa and Sharon are playing their semi final of the Middlesex Foursomes knockout against Enfield at Finchley. The winners of the two semis will play the final that afternoon. We’ll be thinking of you.
