Women's Captain's Announcements - 19th January 2023
It was icicles yesterday and only a brave handful wrapped up against the cold to brave the artic conditions. I understand that several balls were last seen bouncing off the hard ground into the unknown and balls were bouncing off the lake on to the 13th green. Next week looks promising though for us all to get back on the course and if you haven’t signed up for the Alliance then please do so pretty quickly. This is a draw, but we will be going out mostly in handicap order so do please check on IG for your tee time and playing partners. An Alliance is all scores to count on a par 3, two on a par 4 and one on a par 5, and remember to pick up when you cannot score for your team.
A reminder for everyone one who wishes to compete in any of the draws/competitions for the forthcoming season that you must have 5 qualifying cards in the system. Lucy is hoping to get the competitions set up for entering the early part of March. There will be a few amendments to some of the board competitions in that we have set some new handicap limits (not a huge change) so do please keep an eye on the noticeboard in the locker room for more information. You will need to have a qualifying handicap at the time of entry and your handicap must be within the limits of the competition, also at the time of entry. On the noticeboard there are also signing up sheets for forthcoming friendlies and both the Pearson and scratch competitions. The Pearson sign up is for those with a handicap index of 12.5 and 34.4. The 5 aside scratch competition is, of course, off scratch and the friendlies are open to all. This forthcoming year the friendlies are all at away clubs so it is a great way of playing other courses and meeting new people.
We will hopefully be circulating the diary for 2023 in the next few days which gives all the dates for these matches and our Wednesday fixtures together with the Sunday mixed competitions.
