On Wednesday, ten brave women played two consecutive rounds to contend for the Victory Cup. The weather and course conditions were perfect and, once again, this showed in the scores. The results were 1st Sarah Rees 66 64, 2nd Lisa Martin 69 68, 3rd Umar Annaradnam 70 69.

Sunday was a busy day for our section with the 5 a side team at home against Enfield and the May Swindle both being played. The 5 a side team had a spectacular win 3-2 against players with much lower handicaps. As these matches are played off scratch, this was a great victory. Well done to Lesley and team.

Yesterday, we had our Spring Meeting. Although the weather wasn’t totally Spring like, we managed to dodge the heavy showers that came later on in the day. The course was playing beautifully which was reflected in some of the scoring. Ten of us came in with sub 70 rounds and Alison must have thought she was in with a good chance with her 63, but it proved to be not quite good enough as she was pipped by Mary with a fabulous 62

Back to woolly hats it was on Wednesday when we played the Ping 4 ball better ball. Although the weather was cold, some of our women were on fire with the winners coming in with 52 points, no, that’s not a typo….52 points!!! Hazel and Mary set the course alight with their fabulous rounds and not too far behind, with 45 points, were Lesley Avent and Cela.
