Great credit must go to Leigh and the Greens team for the condition of the course on Saturday when 32 players entered the penultimate week of the Winter League. The greens and approaches were looking and feeling great with the conditions we have had since Christmas, and I'm sure given another few weeks of care will improve even more for the spring and summer season.
Please continue to use the winter fairway mats as directed.
In the Winter League, three players topped week 22 with 36 points with Tim Corrick winning closely followed by Rob Sobers and Iain Lanario. Well played all entrants.
On Sunday, 18 players entered the Captain's Draw for a shotgun start. The format was best two scores from teams of three. The winners were Des Denning, Jon Bayer, and Chris Harrington picking up the prizes. Well played all and again thanks to everyone for your support in this monthly event. The next Draw will be on 12th April which is delayed a week because of Easter Sunday being on 5th.
The second monthly Quiz evening took place on Friday and was sold out with lots of competing teams vying for the prizes and more importantly to avoid the bogey prizes for coming last! Well done to mixed table winners led by Julie Rewick and Deborah Chandler for your participation and brains!! And a big thank you to Peter Eskesen for his role as quiz master and special mention to Lynne Watt for singularly marking the answers. Quite a feat.
A reminder of events coming up:
A music afternoon with Abby Jane on Sunday 8th March, 4pm - 6pm
St Patrick's Night, dining tables are sold out but tickets are still available for the bar and music on Friday 13th March. These are bookable on IG as normal.
The opening men's competition is on 14th March with the Holm Oak Trophy. It’s a pairs format and Board competition, so five qualifying cards are required to win the trophy.
Hopefully see you on the course and club house over the next week.
