It’s been a busy week for golf, the course is looking great, and the weather is behaving itself. On Saturday 3rd of June, we held the Shillingford Bowl, congratulations to Ted Rees, with a fantastic net 64, followed by John Stoliday with nett 68. Also, on Saturday we had the June Medal & Srixon AM-Champ Qualifier, once again there was some great scores in, congratulations to Balbinder Dhinsa with a nett 65, just pipping Varnavas Christofi also with nett 65, on count back.

What an amazing Centenary Salver we had today. We started with jumpers and gilets, and some players in woolly hats, and ended with us sitting on the terrace under sun umbrellas enjoying the new terrace furniture. Many thanks to Roy and his team for a lovely lunch which was followed by

Last Thursday we held the Past Captain’s Cup and Dinner, this is always a special event in the calendar, eleven players took part in the competition, and with a fantastic 38 points, our past captain Iain Lanario was the victor, followed by Ted Rees with 34 points, this was followed by a fantastic meal, all credits to our chef Roy and Debbie and her staff, if was a fantastic evening.

The big news this week is that our Pearson team has reached the semi finals which is to be played on Wednesday 21 June at Sudbury. I’m told that BHP hasn’t reached a Pearson semi/final since 1986. For those who are new to our section, the Pearson Trophy is a competition run by
