The summer competition season started with the Holm Oak trophy on Saturday with the victors in this pairs event being Des Denning & Ryan Lee with 44 points winning on count back from Rob Grover & Paul Simms closely followed in third by Nelius Curtin and Simon Baker with 42. Impressive scoring with the conditions again being difficult.
We also saw John Guiney and Graeme Allen victorious in the final of the winter Edgar Collar Cup defeating Iain Lanario and Andrew Corden in the final over 36 holes. Well played to all entrants and congratulations to the winners who will go into the history books as first to win a competition using winter mats!
Sign ups are still open on IG with deadline of 1st April for all single, pairs and mixed competitions for the summer season. A reminder that handicaps and 5 competition cards must be maintained throughout your period of participation in the event.
On Thursday 19th, the club are hosting the announced ‘BLITZ GOLF’ members and sponsors information evening. All members are welcome with Q&A for this exciting UK inaugural event. We should be very proud that BHP has been chosen as host for London region event for a UK wide promotion. Come along for info and see if there’s any help or support you may be able to offer for the day. It will take a lot of organising so all offers of assistance would be greatly appreciated.
On Thursday 26th March- It’s Umar & Roy’s Indian food night. Home made recipes and lots of effort goes into this evening. There are a few remaining tickets available to book on IG.
The 3rd and final winter quiz night is on Friday 27th March. Tickets are selling fast for this fun night of knowledge testing, together with Roy’s great food also included. Again booking available on IG.
Just a reminder of a couple of things. Winter mats are still compulsory and must be used. Also, for Saturday players please leave the tea hut in as clean and tidy condition and as you
would wish to find it when arriving.
