Last Saturday was the president’s putter competition which was won in style by David Knott with 43 points. After three birdies on the front nine, David came in with three over par on the back nine to win by 1 point. Second place on 42 points was Paul Millard with Tom Piotrowski and Ian McNally 3rd & 4th on count-back
On Sunday I missed the fourball draw but I can see some interesting scores. Winners with 48 points were Sean Nugent and Martin Taylor. Doug Taylor and Chad Balluza came second with 47.
In the BHP European tour, the men’s captain versus the women’s captain tournament was finally sealed at Platja de Pals golf course where Sarah pulled back a one point deficit to win impressively at a heavily tree lines course. We didn’t speak to each other for the rest of the holiday.
I’m pleased to see that the empty space at the captain’s away trip has now been filled. Final details to those attending will be sent out on Friday.
