Despite the cold snap 31 golfers braved freezing temperatures for our End of Season Alliance competition, which was followed by a delicious lunch enjoyed by 41 people. Thank you to Davina Farmer for the beautiful flowers and thank you to Roy and his staff for producing heartwarming food on a cold November day.
As for the golf, Louise Fickling, Margaret Herlihy and Anne Herlihy were way ahead of the field scoring 74 points. Helen Gilbert, Rita Kapur and Mary Kemal were runners-up with 71 and in 3rd place with 59 points were Sharon Saunders, Alex Towndrow and Finola Praill. Well done everyone.
The Clubhouse had a sprinkle of Yuletide magic, and the festive season officially began on Thursday with our Christmas Fayre.
The Clubhouse was buzzing with visitors. Stalls packed the foyer and the main bar tempting everyone with some great gift ideas, and in the George Low was our bottle stall and Home Produce.
A big thank you to Janet Connor for organising the raffle with over 40 prizes won and thank you to Lisa Martin for her brilliant hamper assembly.
I love doing this event every year but without volunteers who help on the day and all those who donate it would be much less successful so thank you for all your continued support.
The burning question - how much was raised? A whopping £2,901.55 - the most we have raised since this event started 10 years ago. It feels like having a hole in one!
