Women's Captain's Announcement's 14th July 2021

Hello again,

Finally the sun decided to make an appearance for our Invitation Day. Our guests were all very complimentary of the course, the friendly welcome they received and the lovely meal. I’d like to thank Pippa , Shirley and Sharon who manned (or should that be womanned) the registration and extracted money from us all. Thanks as ever, to Davina for the table flowers and to all our excellent bakers. The cakes just seem to get better every time. Truly Scrumptious. (don’t start singing) A thank you to Rita for her belated birthday drink.

It was really lovely to welcome back some familiar/“old” faces, who thoroughly enjoyed the course and the company once again.

NTP`s were won by Helen Constantinou (Hadley Wood) on the 1st, Barbara Garner ( Essendon) on the 13th, Lucy Bidmead on the 16th and myself on the 5th, although a certain D Dickinson did get inside my shot.

In 3rd place were, Heather Blake, Kaz Chapman,  Carol Agass and Christine Smith

In 2nd place on count back were, Umar Annaradnam, Angela Balnave, Lorna Cooke, Anju Rooban

Winners were Lucy Bidmead, Una Kilgallon, Clare Brown, Patricia Murphy

Further congratulations to Lucy for winning her 2nd round match in the Middlesex Knockouts 6&5 A fantastic result. Good luck in the next round , where hopefully you won’t be drawn at Muswell Hill.

A reminder from Sarah that our proposed overnighter is 3rd to 5th July 2022 and she will need to collect a £30 deposit pp very soon. Please let Sarah know if you’d like to attend. As we have not had an overnighter either this year or last, we have decided to have 3 rounds of golf, one for each Captain (Sue, myself and Sarah) It should be a lot of fun. Sussex National is a lovely venue and £30 is a very small deposit to pay, even if none of us are sure what we will be doing next year. The more people we have, the merrier.

Next week is the Bushguarders Cup and a friendly with Enfield and Crews Hill on Thursday, so happy golfing,
