As I’m sure you are all aware, this coming Bank Holiday Monday, 6th May is my Charity Day in aid of Isabel Hospice. We have a full tee sheet, with 24 teams starting at 9am. If you would like to place a bid in the special auction that is happening on the day, you can find details of all the items that are being auctioned off and how to place your bid, by clicking here. We will also be holding a charity raffle on the day itself, which you can purchase at £5 per ticket - please remember to bring cash on the day, as we won’t be able to take credit / debit card payments. Finally, Isabel Hospice have informed us that they will be collecting clothing for re-sale in their shop, so if you have any suitable items, please bring them along on the day and they will be gratefully received.

On Saturday, we held the May Medal in what can only be described as wintry and wet conditions, where scoring remined difficult. Despite this, Rob Grover and Nelius Curtin came in with very respectable scores of Net 69 and Net 67 in Division One and Two respectively. In addition to this, the top 16 gross scores qualified for the Scratch Knockout Trophy. A seeded draw will take place shortly and competitors will be advised of their opponents via IG. Unfortunately, due to the persistent rain on Saturday, the course was closed on Sunday and while this news was obviously disappointing, the result of the North London Derby cheered us all up!

On Tuesday, Mark Kermode and Nigel Bidmead took Danny and I on in the Captain Pro Challenge. A really tight match was concluded with the last putt on the last green, with Danny and I just edging the contest. If you fancy taking us on a Captain Pro Challenge, just pop in the Pro Shop and book a time in.

This coming Sunday, we will be holding the May Fourball Draw. The monthly event is an excellent way to meet new and existing members for what is a really good social occasion. Sign up is now open online or via the IG app. The draw will be made at 8:15am on Sunday Morning in the Clubhouse and groups will tee off at 8:30am. Please try and arrive no later than 8am for complimentary tea and coffee beforehand and bar snacks afterwards.
