Vice Captain's Blog, 24th March 2025

This week's first medal competition was keenly contested with 57 entrants on Saturday and seven on Sunday. On Saturday, in Division One Nick Sharpe (14) came in with level par winning on countback from Timothy Waite (10).

In Division Two and overall winner was Richard Patterson (17) with an impressive score of net 62 winning by 4 shots from Martin Taylor (16).

Ten players equalled or bettered their handicaps, and nine players scored two’s this week.

The Sunday medal had seven entrants and Salman Sahib (32) coming home with a net 64. Well played all entrants over both days.

On Sunday afternoon, we held the first mixed board competition of the year, the Brasted Trophy. The triumphant partnership scoring 36 points were Guy and Sharon Saunders (pictured below). Well done and thanks to Mark Stevens as usual for arranging an enjoyable and fun event.

Couple of other points to mention:

- One space become available on the Dale Hill trip for members this coming Sunday/Monday. We currently have 19 players so if interested please contact me or Danny for further details of cost and timings.

- I would also like to give a shout out to Jack Bidmead who achieved a 2 this week and although not in competition was witnessed!!! Sounds impressive but even more impressive was that this was on the 10th hole and therefore an albatross. Well done Jack and keep up the good form.
