A tough slog out on the course this week, though for some it seems they had got the read of everything, especially our very own Jack Bidmead who deserves and extra special mention for an outstanding round of Gross 60! (See photo of Jack’s card) a super achievement and he tells me he still left a couple of easy putts out there! Very well-done Jack!
On Saturday we had the Coronation Cup 36 hole competition, again a real slog for some (myself included!) but 20 players took part and the overall winner with a very impressive gross of 131 (-9) was Andrew Corden, with nett scores of 65 and 66, please join me in congratulating Andrew on two great rounds, see the results below. Also on Saturday was the extra Stableford competition with 49 players taking part, and the overall winner was Simon Lanario with a very impressive 44 points See the rest of the results below.
On Sunday we had the four ball draw, with teams of four and teams of three (with a ghost player), playing best two from four, the overall winners were the team of three (not needing their ghost player!) of Andy Henderson, Sean Nugent and John Moynihan with a massive 90 points, the highlight of the day was Danny’s hole in one on the thirteenth!

A bit of housekeeping, please remember to remove your name from the tee sheet as soon as you know you can’t play. Saturday’s competition tee sheet must not be blocked out with people’s names who are not or were never playing. We are seeing a lot of three balls where there are four players on the sheet on a regular basis.
Please remember to shut the gates as you navigate your way around the course either by foot or buggy, this will hopefully deter pedestrians wandering through the field of play.
Danny and I are very much looking forward to playing our Captain and pro Challenges, which will culminate with which ever pair manages to beat us by the biggest margin, being invited to play a rematch at Royal Cromer Golf Club, please email Danny or myself and we can book you in.
As we are now underway for the season, a reminder that the 13th is the Captain’s Charity Hazard. If you go into the water then a donation into any of the buckets around the clubhouse will be gratefully received, if like me that does happen a little too often! Then an idea to see you through the year could be a one-off donation via the JustGiving Page of £10.
