This weekend saw the start of the Winter League week one and with trying conditions on Saturday, the following scores were achieved.
Division 1
Bozhidar Aleksov 36 points
Sean Daniels 36 points
Division 2
Gary Hampshire 36 points
Savash Balman 35 points
Sunday - Andrew Harrington - 33 points.
Well played all and everyone who ventured out and onto week 2 next.
On Sunday morning, we held my first fourball draw with 31 players taking part in a team best two of four competition. There was a fourball voucher up for grabs and was duly offered to Len Palmer and Ryan Lee (a new member, playing his first draw) ably supported by Danny and I, so well played to all entrants, and again a massive thank you for such a great turn out and your support.
It was particularly pleasing to meet so many new members playing their first draw and I would encourage others to come along to the next one on November 2nd.
We will now also be looking for challengers for the Captain / Pro matches, so if interested in arranging a game to start the year, please contact either me or Danny. We are provisionally booking for either Tuesday or Sunday mornings and ready to accept any pairs challenge!
Congratulations to Martyn Lainchbury and John Killey on their victory in the G CUP knockout final defeating Oz Hassan and Andrew Garrad on Sunday.
